  1. Guidelines

·        Speak from the heart ~ be honest, tell what you really think/feel

·        Speak in a “good way” ~ Respectful words that will not offend others

·        Equal opportunity to speak ~ Everyone will get a chance to speak, be brief and to the point

·        Use the talking Piece ~ Talk only with the Talking Piece and you may pass and not speak if you choose

·        Remain in the circle ~ Breaks may be taken if the circle goes to long

·        All participants are treated equally ~ Everyone’s ideas are equally as important, no matter what your age, etc.

·        Confidentiality ~ Speak only with those participating in the Circle about what was discussed in the Circle

·        Connect the circle- join hands pinkies, touch toes

·        “We are here in the circle, together, to listen, learn, help and support each other as we repair the harm, or the mistake that was made, and return to your classroom strengthened”

·        What Happened?

·        Who was affected?  How were they effected

·        What did you hear others say?

·        How can the harm be repaired?

·        Agree on a plan

·        Connect the circle ~ join hands, pinkies or touch toes

·        “We have come together respectfully. We have shared openly, honestly, and learned how we can repair the harm. We agree to…”
