Alcohol and substance abuse puts people at risk: risks like health, safety, relationships with family and friends, and future success in school or at work. It even puts brain development at risk.
The Prime for Life curriculum is designed to help participants understand substance use risk-factors and help them make responsible choices in the future. In a group setting, this two-session workshop includes a variety of interactive learning segments:
- The effects on brain development
- Phases of use
- Tolerance and standard “dosages”
- Friends and other social influences
- The impact of high-risk choices
- Making low-risk choices to protect your values
- Setting goals for the future
COURT ORDERED PARTICIPANTS
In most cases, court-ordered participants will receive a registration form and letter from our agency with the assigned class date and time. Students may register by mail or in person at our office.
To satisfy court requirements, participants must attend both 4-hour sessions. The class is offered about every 6 weeks – call our office or see the Calendar on our homepage for the upcoming classes. A snack is provided during every session.
