Parent Teen Communication Workshop

Good communication can only come alive
              when emotions can die down.

If a teen is required to attend this class there must be at least one parent attending with them. If both parents and other family members would like to attend they are also welcome. The class incorporates discussion with role-playing that increases knowledge of communication styles between teens and their parents, and also between teens and each other.

The course teaches:

  • decision making skills
  • the “refusal” skill
  • 40 Developmental Assets
  • active listening
  • the use of “I” statements

The goal of this class is to provide tools that can help both parents and teens to build better communication patterns at home so that they can truly hear and understand each other.

Sometimes a person may not be able to HEAR something new until they have been newly HEARD.
