Connecting all over the county

OUR PROGRAMS:

Restorative Conferencing – Facilitated dialogue model for offenders and victims of crime, as well participants in a misconduct situation. Community members also take part to give voice to the impacts.

Victim Impact Panels – An audience of adult offenders convicted of OWIs, along with driver education students, listen to a panel of speakers who tell their stories of drunk-driving tragedies.

Restorative Teen Court – Youth offenders restore their relationships with the community through an alternative process involving a peer-jury and selected sanctions to repair the harm done.

Restorative Truancy Prevention Program – Community Outreach Workers serve students and parents affected by truancy, while acting as liaisons between families, schools, social services, and courts.

Restorative Discipline – BCRJP trains school administrators and staff to implement restorative responses to conflicts and rule-breaking which build motivation for students to become more responsible.

Shoplifting Conference – Shoplifting offenders attend a conference with managers from the retail sector in order to understand the full impact of shoplifting on the business community.

Traffic Violators Conference – In lieu of paying fines, teens with traffic violations attend a group conference involving police participation where they can learn fully about safety considerations.

OUR WORKSHOPS:

KnoW Alcohol – Those under 21 with drinking law violations attend a 7-hour workshop to learn about the high risks of drinking behaviors and also set goals for making responsible choices.

SHIFT Drug-use – This prevention and early intervention workshop (involving four 2-hour sessions over one month) helps teens, through group-work, to examine their behaviors and thinking around drug use.

NOT (Not On Tobacco) – A 10-week course designed to help youth reach cessation with all tobacco-related habits; the approach includes life-skills management to help reduce stress and increase health.

Teen-Parent Workshop – Typically a sanction of the Restorative Teen Court, this 2-hour class helps teen and parents gain better communication and decision making skills.

Anger Management Workshop – A 2 to 4 hour class based on cognitive behavioral theory, giving youth new tools to lower their heated emotions so that they can make cool-headed decisions.

Cognitive Group Intervention – An intensive 16-lesson course designed for repeat offenders who can benefit by learning how to self-monitor their thinking patterns. (THINK for adults; CHOICES for youth)
